Brenda Boone Founder of the Brenda Boone Hope Center Foundation. Brenda was born and raised in Florida as the youngest of eight children. She loves the beaches and water and feels most at peace when she's outdoors. She thrives on giving to others and has done so her entire life, even as a small girl. Her oldest brother recently completed the family DNA testing on their mother's side and found out that their roots go back to Africa, almost exactly where the Brenda Boone Hope Center is established. It's a small world when you return to where it all began. Brenda strongly believes that every American should go to Africa and experience these countries firsthand. She thinks it will change your view of the world.
She completed her graduate studies at Florida State University in Industrial Psychology and in 1997 established a now very successful aviation consulting firm, Human Solutions, Inc. As a woman in a largely male dominated field, she has created a highly competitive and well respected company. The company provides human engineering services for air traffic control equipment as well as supports studies and software development for cockpits in airplanes.
Brenda established the Hope Center in 2006 and has provided the full sponsorship to this program. It has rescued girls, ages 7 to 17, from many serious situations and helped them to heal. Each story will break your heart. Each child has or will be given a new chance as a result of the services provided. The Center helps them to get back on their feet and continues to provide the support they need even after they are released. The center has two purposes. It provides medical, legal and counseling support to sexually abused girls as well as girls who have been raped. It also provides an educational program for young women who have dropped out of school before the 8th grade. Staff members train and certify them in tailoring, knitting, and computers so they are able to get jobs or start their own businesses.
Says Brenda: 'My feelings about the Brenda Boone Hope Center can be summed up in the late great Winston Churchill's words, 'We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.' This is my life.
