Progressive Report October 2008
We trust God you are keeping well amidst the ongoing hot campaigns. We are
much privileged to once again update you of our progress at Hope c entre.
We are doing pretty well. We are getting a lot of referral cases from all
areas of the larger Meru. We feel honored to be given a chance to impact a
child’s life and to make a lasting impression .We thank God for his
continued grace and mercy upon our lives and the lives of our girls.
There ten girls residing at the centre as per now. They are taking their
classes and having a good time as one family. Three of our girls (Stella
and Elizabeth) joined Mwithumwiru Primary School to continue with their
studies as they wait to join boarding school next January next year .They
are doing pretty well at their new school. They usually come back to the
centre in the evening. Mercy is fine at her school and her visiting day
will be on 11th October 2008. We are planning t o visit her and have a good
time with her as we evaluate her progress and how she has adapted to the
new environment.
Our two young mothers (Carol and Joshna) are doing well and the babies are
growing and adding a smile to everyone at hope family. We thank God for
them and we are trusting that their lives are going to be a blessing.
Joshna and baby Diana will be discharged back to the community this week.
She will join her grandmother and then join school January next year. We
will miss them and we pray that our work and impact in their lives will not
be in vain. We hope that they will be women of substance and worth in
future. Carol and baby Melody will be with us for a longer period. Plans
are underway to have baby Melody relocated t o Ripples International New
Start Centre as her mother joins secondary school next year.
The young girls (Maureen, Jane and Catherine) are fine and they make a
lovely company for each other. They are taking their classes here at the
centre with their teacher. They love playing and enjoy each other’s company
very much. Catherine’s case will be heard on the 13th October 2008 at Nkubu
Law courts. We are trusting that the case will go on well and have justice
done. Jane’s and Mercy’s case (the two sisters) will be heard on the 28.th
October 2008 at Maua law courts in Meru North.
We have had two new admissions at the centre. Beth is a ten year old girl
from Thuura in Imenti North. She was referred to hope centre by the
community health worker and the chair person from the area local support
group. She was staying with her step father and her mother. Her step father
has been having negative attitude towards her and he doesn’t have the
fatherly love towards her. She was defiled by her uncle and her step father
chased her away from his house. She is happy at the centre and adjusting
well to her new environment. Our newest girl is Jackline who is a class
four girl. She lives with her family. Her mother has been admitted at
Kenyatta National Hospital for a very long period of time. This has greatly
affected her father’s mental stability .She has been neglected and left to
take care of her father.
The vocational girls are back to the centre and taking their class work
really seriously because this is their last term before they take their
final exams. They will take their exams in November this year.
Here at hope centre we are a happy family and we thank God for his mercy
and grace. All the staff are working well and at work.
Everyone here sends much love and regards to you. We thank God for you and
we pray that God is going to keep you well and protect you. The girls
really miss you!!
God bless
Merci
